Consultation re Dog Order for Enfield Park.
Enfield Park is to be divided into three administrative areas for the control of dogs in the park.
1. Dogs completely prohibited – Children’s Play area as defined on the map.
2. Dogs on lead – From the Park entrance to the end of the memorial garden as defined on the map.
3. Dogs free to roam under control of their handler as defined on the map.
Various ‘dog bins’ are available throughout the park and plastic bags are available free of charge from the groundsman whose storage shed is located just inside the entrance of the park.
You now know what is being proposed by the Council who own the land and the facilities available to those walking their dogs. The object of the consultation is to ascertain your views on the control of dogs in the park. For the purposes of the Consultation, if you disagree with the proposals, or think that your views need to be noted then please send you comments in writing to the Town Clerk at the above address either by post of e-mail.
A substantial number of dogs use the park as part of their regular exercise and it is not the object of the Council to curtail their enjoyment, but to keep areas of the park free of pollution to enable people to use the park without having to be mindful of dog excrement as owners do forget to clear up after their pets.
Walkers in the park have been attacked by dogs, and thankfully whilst it is rare, owners should be aware of the need to exercise due control over their pets.
The Council looks forward to receiving your comments which will be taken into consideration before any application is made to Cornwall Council for an Order.
The consultation will commence on the 1st May for three months.
