West Gallery music is a term which refers to music conventionally sung and played in the West Gallery of a Church of England church. Its heyday was the 18th century but it saw a revival in the late 1980s and is now sung by several West Gallery “quires” (choirs).
under its leader Peter Meanwell, was interspersed with readings from Camelford’s history.  These were read by local residents Rev Stella Long (who also welcomed people to the concert), Brian Parkman, Helen Wood, David Moore, David Goodman and Margaret Mabson.
Following the concert refreshments were
served, the proceeds going to support Save the Children.

The concert was well attended, and included many people who had come in medieval costume.
