Finding information and making enquiries will become much easier as “one stop” shops are introduced in the main towns across Cornwall.
Regardless of where you live or work, you will be able to use any of these local facilities across the county - there will be no need to stick to the "one stop shop" in your town because the same information will be available at any one.
Friendly customer services staff will be able to deal with a wide range of queries in your local town. Specialists will also be available either via telephone, web based technology or face to face 'surgery' sessions.
By April 1st 2009 when the new council is first established, these local facilities should be up and running in the main towns. At that stage most of them may simply have basic facilities such as a reception area, private meeting
room and office support, but in future these hubs of the community networks can be further developed so that they offer convenient, co-ordinated access to all public services and information including services provided by the voluntary and community sector.
Outreach services are also important and the community hub concept will be extended to include mobile services to villages and estates.
