Camelford Show
The Show was founded in 1897 then known as Camelford and District Horse Show. In 1922 its name changed to Camelford and District Agricultural Association and in 2005 it became a Limited Company.
It has had a number of homes, firstly Dark Lane, Higher Culloden Tregoodwell (football field), Trecarne and finally its present home Halwill Barton. In 2006 we celebrated our 100th Show, it was a record breaker almost doubling the number of visitors. We are most appreciative to Camelford Town Council for sponsoring the bus making regular trips from the town centre to the show field.
Going through catalogues from the past there are still families showing their sheep and cattle and, of course, horses. For the future of the Show we try hard to encourage the young  and 2007 year was no exception.  The Junior Handling classes in both Cattle and Sheep were well represented. In 2003 the Entertainment Ring was introduced and has proved very popular.  We had Jousting, a Stunt Rider, Camel Racing and the Portsmouth Field Gun’s Crew together with Birds of Prey and the popular Children’s Sports. The Vintage Show has grown from strength to strength, their parade has filled the ring. We have entertainment all around the showground for children, a Dog
Show for anyone to enter, the Local Food hall introduced some 2 years ago and of course our Trade Stands.
Without the help of our stewards who work tirelessly throughout the day our Show could not go ahead, and what would be a Show without our Exhibitors.
2008 proved to be a complete disaster for the show.  The incessant rain and wind forced its cancellation on the very morning it was due to be held.  Undaunted, work has already commenced on making the 2009 show bigger and better than any in the past.
We look forward to seeing you at our future Shows. See you there!
