We all made an early start at the hall on the Friday morning. Terry and Denise Tague, helped by Brian Water, started to dress the hall. They also decorated the entrance and the outside area. Jamie gave extra muscle where needed. Shields went up on the walls, so did antlers.
Doorways were covered with great swathes of material. Two decorative pieces, made by Terry, were hung over the tables on the stage. A gazebo was put in the entrance hall, decorated with greenery and more antlers. Outside an archway was made over the entrance, decorated with a shield and red material. This all transformed a very plain hall into a place of magic, but that was not all.
Audrey Copus brought with her three exquisite banners she had made to be used in a religious play in Canterbury Cathedral. These she stood behind the top table on the stage and gave an instant ‘royal’ feel to the area. Audrey was also in charge of flowers.
